4 major X-Factors to watch from the Bears vs. Lions matchup in Week 1

The start of the 2020 NFL season is rapidly approaching and it will feature two NFC North rivalry matchups. While the Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings will square off with each other in Week 1, so will the Chicago Bears and Detroit Lions.

Last season, the Bears managed to sweep the season-series with the Lions. That was expected considering both matchups came in Nov., long after Detroit’s franchise-quarterback Matthew Stafford was ruled out for the remainder of the season.

In their matchups in 2019, the Bears’ victories were decided by a margin of a single possession score. The Lions will look to change that with Stafford back in the lineup and after adding some more talent in the offseason.

It won’t be easy for either the Bears or Lions to be to supplant the Packers or Vikings in the NFC North standings in 2020. Managing to be highly successful in division matchups is important to be able to be in position to accomplish such a goal and Week 1 will provide an opportunity to start.

With that, let’s take a look at four major X-Factors to watch from the Chicago Bears vs. Detroit Lions matchup in Week 1 of the 2020 NFL season.
