Mekhi Becton

The Jets’ first round pick immediately has his work cut out for him, stacking up against Bills rusher Jerry Hughes.

The Jets’ offensive line was … not great last season. By because of additions like Becton, PFF named the Jets’ O-line as one of the most improved in the league. The Bills had one of the best defense last season, finishing in the top 10 in total defense, run defense, pass defense and scoring defense.

Becton was one of the top-ranked tackles coming into the 2020 draft and as mentioned, his first test is the Hughes. Hughes is coming off a down year in 2019, and hasn’t been able to repeat his success from his first couple of years with the Bills, so he’s a great measuring stikc for Becton.

The offensive line for the Jets needs to be better in general. It’s going to start with rookies like Becton getting adjusted to the NFL level, and the matchup against Hughes is a pivotal one to start his career.
