Hayden Hurst

Hayden Hurst’s debut with Atlanta wasn’t anything special. He had three catches for 38 yards in the loss to Seattle.

But what’s key for Atlanta will be this tight end position and getting Hurst involved in the passing game more. While it is a new-look Dallas defense, the Cowboys gave up the most receptions to tight ends in 2019 with 104 and also gave up over 1,000 receiving yards to tight ends in 2019, the third-most in the league.

Now this is the first time in Hurst’s young career where he is the No. 1 tight end, after playing second fiddle to Mark Andrews in Baltimore last season. So the Falcons should be patient with Hurst.

However, the matchup against Dallas provides an opportunity to use Hurst more, especially with a banged-up Cowboy’s secondary.
