Marquez Valdes-Scantling
The big question for the Packers’ passing game this season was who will be the No. 2 receiver – Allen Lazard or Marquez Valdes-Scantling. While neither has really set themselves apart from the other, Valdes-Scantling did see two more targets (6) than Lazard (4) in the Week 1 win over the Vikings.
Valdes-Scantling reeled in four catches for 96 yards and a 45-yard touchdown. His six targets were tied for second-most with Aaron Jones.
The Lions’ secondary is very much banged up, with Desmond Trufant out for Week 2, Justin Coleman on the IR and Darryl Roberts listed as questionable. Rookie Jeff Okudah is set to make his first NFL start. Okudah will most likely draw Adams as a matchup, leaving Valdes-Scantling available for a favorable matchup against Amani Oruwariye.
The secondary will be forced to focus on Adams, and much like in the game against the Vikings, Rodgers can take advantage of mismatches against Valdes-Scantling and have a field day against Detroit.
