With the first week of the 2020 NFL season officially in the books, fans are now justified in turning their attention to Week 2, which boasts a handful of captivating matchups. We won’t go as far as to say that the Sunday night showdown between the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks contains the most box office appeal, but as history as shown, these two teams can’t help but provide viewers with a wildly entertaining game.

Fans of both sides will remember the last time they met back in 2016, when Seattle stuffed New England four times (!) at the goal line to clinch a thrilling 31-24 win at Gillette Stadium. Russell Wilson connected with now-retired wide receiver Doug Baldwin for a 15-yard score with 10 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter to put the Seahawks on top, and they wouldn’t look back.

Fast forward to the present day, and Seattle and the Patriots, despite enduring a large quantity of roster turnover, are both still perennial playoff contenders. Furthermore, both teams started off the new season on the right foot with convincing wins.

A few late touchdowns from Atlanta made the game seem closer than it actually was, but the Seahawks genuinely cruised to a 38-25 victory on the back of a superhuman performance from Wilson.

The Patriots, meanwhile, controlled time of possession and used a strong defensive performance to roll through Miami by a final score of 21-11. Cam Newton stole the show in this one, totaling 75 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.

With two mobile and dynamic quarterbacks, there’s no predicting what sort of storylines Sunday Night Football matchup will produce. To get our readers ready for what projects to be a must-see game, we highlighted a list of X-Factors they should keep an eye on.
