4 needs for the Minnesota Vikings in NFL free agency

The Minnesota Vikings are coming off a 10-6 season that featured a Wild Card victory over the New Orleans Saints. Now, the focus will turn to building off that in ways that will require real creativity.

As things currently stand, the Vikings will enter free agency with an estimated $19.4 million in cap space and that simply isn’t much to address all of their needs. They even reached this figure after recently deciding to waive Xavier Rhodes, Linval Joseph, and David Morgan.

There is justifiably a lot of focus currently on the pending free agency of Anthony Harris and Everson Griffen. There won’t be a lot of cap space for the Vikings to work with in order to bring them back and address some of their most pressing needs.

Regardless of what happens with Harris and Griffen’s pending free agency, the Vikings are facing a complicated reality. They must be prepared to make many good selections in the NFL Draft and use their salary cap space with real savvy to maximize their supporting cast.

With that being said, there are four major needs the Vikings are facing heading into NFL free agency.
