4 perfect defensive targets for the Detroit Lions this offseason

Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

Julian Okwara, Outside Linebacker, Notre Dame

Adding an edge rusher may not be at the top of the priority list, but the Lions absolutely should address the position in the second round. That’s right, we’re talking about a second-round pick being a top target for the Lions.

Notre Dame standout Julian Okwara has big-time potential. Okwara played in eight games for the Irish in 2019, recording 18 tackles, four sacks, and two forced fumbles. Back in 2018, however, Okwara racked up 38 tackles, eight sacks, one defended pass, and one interception.

Detroit needs to get to the quarterback more often. There are some questions surrounding Okwara, but the Lions should give him a chance.
