3. New England Patriots
With the departure of Tom Brady for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Bill Belichick and company will be looking for a new quarterback. The Patriots may not want to spend the No. 23 overall pick on a quarterback with Jarrett Stidham on the roster, but Hurts in the second or third round would be perfect.
Hurts would be given a chance to compete for immediate playing time, but sitting him and letting him develop on the sidelines wouldn’t be a bad option either. Belichick and Josh McDaniels have shown the ability to develop quarterbacks at a high level over the years.
If the Patriots decide to go with Hurts, he could very well take over as their starter and long-term franchise quarterback in 2020 or 2021. This fit would make a lot of sense for both sides.
