1. Connor McGovern
Of course, the most glaring need for Arizona this offseason resides along the offensive line. In his rookie campaign, Murray was sacked a grand total of 48 times (tied for most in the NFL).
Without a doubt, Murray is the prized possession for the Cardinals moving forward. To be sure that he remains upright, Arizona needs to bulk up the offensive front.
When free agency begins, the Cardinals could lose A.Q. Shipley; their starting center for the last four seasons. If Shipley isn’t brought back, Connor McGovern makes perfect sense for Arizona.
After missing his rookie season in 2016 due to injury, McGovern has started in 31 of Denver’s last 32 games. Yet again, McGovern was also coached by Joseph—the current defensive coordinator in Arizona. So there is a familiarity there. Above all though, McGovern would give Murray some assurance at center for years to come.
