4 perfect targets for the Los Angeles Chargers in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft

Damon Arnette

On the defensive side of the ball, the Chargers are littered with talent at every level. Off of the edge, Melvin Ingram and Joey Bosa are one of the most disruptive pass-rushing duos in the NFL.

At linebacker, Denzel Perryman and Thomas Davis anchor the middle of the defense. Last but not least, Casey Hayward and Derwin James are cornerstones in the secondary.

With that being said, the Chargers could benefit from adding a cornerback in this year’s draft. There’s a zero-percent chance that Los Angeles has an opportunity to select Jeffrey Okudah.

On the other hand, the Chargers could draft the other cornerback coming out of Ohio State, Damon Arnette. Arnette is a talented corner in his own right and has been overlooked due to playing alongside Okudah.

In his four seasons at Ohio State, Arnette contributed 22 deflections and five interceptions. Adding Arnette to the secondary would give the Chargers a lethal trio with Hayward and Desmond King.
