#4 TE Jordan Reed (WAS Redskins)
We’ve seen Jordan Reed put up elite numbers at the Tight End position before. In 2015, Reed finished with 952 receiving yards and 11 TDs in only 14 games. But that’s concern with Reed: injury. The 14 games in 2015 is the most he’s played in a single season his career, playing in only 6 games last year. It would be cheating then for me to caveat this player on the list with “If He’s Healthy,” because that’s the biggest “if” in Jordan Reed’s arsenal.
Instead, as the 10th TE off the board and in the 9th round of 12-team leagues, a player of Reed’s caliber is great value. Assuming you’re able to grab a safety net of a Tight End in even later rounds (Charles Clay and Benjamin Watson come to mind), Reed’s numbers at the Tight End position in fantasy could be difference-maker on your team. With a new QB in Alex Smith who has shown a penchant for throwing to his Tight End while in Kansas City, look for Reed to be one of Smith’s favorite check-down options in the Washington offense in 2018.
