4 Players to Carry Your Fantasy Football Team to a Championship

#2 QB Drew Brees (NO Saints)

In dynasty leagues, sure, I understand why Brees might give some people pause. But in re-draft leagues, Brees is still a QB1 for 2018. Brees is currently the 7th QB off the board (65th overall). I can only assume Drew’s 2017 numbers scare people away from what is a perceived decline, but let me assure you: Drew Brees is still an elite QB. Yes, his overall counting statistics went down slightly in 2017, but that is far from Drew’s fault. The addition of 2017 NFL Rookie of the Year Alvin Kamara paired with Pro Bowl RB Mark Ingram took a lot of pressure off of Drew Brees in the offense.

His efficiency stats (completion percentage, interception percentage, and yards per attempt) were all among his career best, showing when asked to throw the ball, Drew can still make it happen. With Ingram’s suspension for the first four games of 2018, look for Drew to be asked to throw the ball like at pre-2017 rates. The defense in New Orleans continues to improve, and getting the ball back into Drew’s hands can only help his 2018 fantasy production.

And finally: this year’s potential Todd Gurley.
