Miami Dolphins
The Miami Dolphins have a lot of picks (14) in the upcoming NFL Draft, perhaps an overabundance. It would be difficult to use all of those on rookies and expect to have roster spots and reasonable purpose for most of them.
Using some draft capital to acquire Leonard Fournette would make plenty of sense for the Dolphins. Adding more established contributors to its roster is crucial to further their rebuilding efforts as opposed to hoping that a bunch of unproven rookies eventually pan out.
Let’s not forget, a great way to simplify adjusting to the NFL level for a young quarterback is to have a strong running game. The Dolphins would be significantly reinforcing their talent at this position by adding a back of Fournette’s caliber into the mix.
While the Dolphins did sign Jordan Howard earlier in the offseason to a two-year contract, he is accustomed to splitting backfield responsibilities. He shared running back duties with Miles Sanders during his time with the Philadelphia Eagles and Tarik Cohen with the Chicago Bears.
