4 PPR Running Backs to Target Late in Your Fantasy Draft

Chris Thompson – WAS

It was devastating for the Washington organization and the Redskins fanbase when 2018 rookie Derrius Guice went down before the season started.

Yes, the Redskins just signed future Hall of Fame child beater Adrian Peterson to compete with “Fat Rob” Kelley and 2017 rookie Samaje Perine, but Peterson looked gassed last year, Kelley lacks elite NFL speed, and Perine was largely uninspiring. Like Sproles, Riddick and Bernard, Thompson’s role as a pass-catcher is etched in stone in that offense. And with a new QB in Alex Smith coming from Kansas City, we’ve seen how Smith likes to check down to pass-catching backs.

Thompson is still going in the 7th Round of PPR drafts, but could very easily be a week-to-week starter for your PPR team. His floor in 2018 is 750 yards and 5 total TDs, but he could easily surpass 1,000 total yards and 8 TDs in the Washington offense.

Honorable mentions: James White (NE), CJ Prosise (SEA), Ty Montgomery (GB)
