4 reasons the Bears may not be who we think they are

Nick Foles Won’t Bring That Much To The Offense

While he did very well in the fourth quarter, Nick Foles isn’t elite enough to carry a below average offense. Foles wasn’t perfect by any means last week. While the offense was more efficient under Foles, it’s important to remember that the Falcons defense was torched by Quarterbacks the two previous weeks.

Foles will be able to throw the ball accurately down the field. Foles has proven that he has arm talent. However, his arm talent isn’t anything special. The Bears’ new starter is pretty average in comparison to the rest of the NFL. Foles also brings virtually no athleticism to this offense.

While Foles has a better IQ and better arm than Mitchell Trubisky, however, what they gain in IQ and accuracy, the Bears lose in versatility and athleticism. While Foles may go down as one of the greatest backup quarterbacks in NFL history, there is a reason he has yet to secure a starting role. Foles is a very good passer.

However, there’s much more to playing quarterback than just passing the ball. Foles really doesn’t bring much to this Bears offense, and honestly, the offense was built more for Trubisky who has a very different skillset.
