Melvin Gordon III Could Counteract Derrick Henry

With Courtland Sutton and Jerry Jeudy being able to stretch the defense on the edges that will pull the safeties and linebackers away from the line of scrimmage. The person that ends up helping the most will be Melvin Gordon III.

Gordon III is a few years from his prime, but the 27-year-old is still looking for a way to break out with the Broncos. He will do so in a dual-back system with an effective complement in Phillip Lindsay also in the mix.

The other parts of the Broncos’ offense will benefit Gordon III quite a bit. He has the advantage this year of being paired with an offense that should be able to throw the ball against any defense. After only gaining 612 yards on the ground last year in 12 games, he will be looking for a comeback season.

Something to watch is Gordon III looking to make a big statement in the first game of the season by surprising the Titans and producing a pounding ground game. If he is able to gain anywhere around 80 yards in this game, then there is a good chance the Broncos can keep pace and get the win against the Titans.
