4 reasons the New England Patriots will defeat the Broncos in Week 5

Cam Newton Should Be Able to Return

After watching the putrid quarterback play between Brian Hoyer and Jarrett Stidman against the Chiefs, it’s amazing that there was a possible QB battle this offseason.

Cam Newton was extremely missed in Week 4, where the Patriots’ defense limited Patrick Mahomes to just 236 yards and two touchdowns that were short shuffle passes near the goal line. If they had Newton, it was a game that the Patriots could have won.

But Newton, who was held out due to testing positive to COVID-19, should return for Week 5 against the Broncos, with added vengeance. It’s not yet clear if he will be able to, but if he does, the Patriots are in great position for a dominant win. We’ve already seen through the first three weeks that Newton can still tear it up and after missing a week, it’s just more added motivation.

Despite defense being Vic Fangio’s strength, the Broncos’ defense has been fairly average. Expect the dual-threat Newton to shine once again against Denver.
