4 reasons the New England Patriots will defeat the Broncos in Week 5

Brett Rypien Will Most Likely Be the Opposing QB

I just mentioned how the Pats limited Patrick Mahomes, one of the best arms in the league, last week. And now they go from reigning Super Bowl MVP to … Brett Rypien, who has more interceptions thrown than games played.

Drew Lock has begun to throw and Fangio has said that it’s a “50-50” chance that Lock plays this Sunday. While yes, he returned to practice and Broncos fans would love to see Lock under helm, there is no reason for them to rush their young QB back on the field.

So for the Patriots, that defense has to be grinning ear-to-ear watching Rypien’s film from the Broncos’ win over the New York Jets last Thursday. Two touchdowns, but also three interceptions, including a pick-six, against a poor Jets defense.

If Lock somehow is ready (he won’t), the Patriots may have their work cut out for them. But with Rypien opposing them, there is no excuse for the passing defense not to have a day.
