Pats Will Stuff the Run Game

So you have Brett Rypien has your QB. That should mean you need to rely on the run? Wrong.

The Broncos so far have the fourth-worst run yards per game through the first quarter of the season. The signing of Melvin Gordon has proven underwhelming so far, as he has had a total of 281 yards rushing in the first four games, with 107 of those coming against the Jets last week.

The Patriots’ run-defense is right in the middle of the pack in the NFL, giving up 115.3 rushing yards per game. With a struggling run game in Denver, it’s an opportunity to boost those numbers.

Don’t be surprised if the Broncos go with a run-heavy attack, especially after Gordon’s performance last week. But the Pats’ defense is a lot different than the Jets’ defense and that front-seven of New England should be able to wrap up and stuff Gordon on the ground.
