The Tampa Bay Buccaneers brought in former superstar wide receiver Antonio Brown midseason and gave him a second chance after a plethora of off-the-field issues. Brown was able to take advantage of the opportunity and has set himself up for potential options this offseason in free agency.
During the 2020 season with the Buccaneers, Brown ended up catching 45 passes for 483 yards and four touchdowns. In the playoffs, he caught eight passes for 81 yards and two touchdowns on the road to a Super Bowl win.
At 32 years old, many believe that Brown will end up re-signing with the Buccaneers. That could happen, but other teams could try to steal him away. It isn’t known what kind of market he will have, but it will be interesting to find out.
All of that being said, let’s dive in and take a look at four teams who should consider trying to sign Antonio Brown this offseason, outside of the Buccaneers of course.
4. Green Bay Packers
Coming in last on this list are the Packers, who could definitely use some help at the wide receiver position. They reportedly showed interest in Brown before he chose to sign with the Buccaneers. Being able to catch passes from Aaron Rodgers, who just won the NFL MVP award, would have to be intriguing to Brown.
Davante Adams is arguably the best wide receiver in the league right now. Adding a weapon like Brown as the No. 2 wideout would make the Green Bay offense even more lethal. This is a potential option.
3. Indianapolis Colts
Another team that isn’t very likely to sign Antonio Brown but should still consider the option would be the Colts. They are close to being a Super Bowl team, but aren’t quite there. No one knows who their starting quarterback will be in 2021, but they need to add more weapons.
T.Y. Hilton and Zach Pascal are set to hit free agency as well. Many believe that Hilton will re-sign with the team, but they still need more help. Adding Brown to a core of Hilton and Michael Pittman Jr. would be a win-now move for the Colts.
2. San Francisco 49ers
Deebo Samuel is a dynamic wide receiver who is currently the No. 1 wideout for the 49ers. However, they could use another dynamic weapon. Antonio Brown being added to the mix would help Jimmy Garoppolo and Kyle Shanahan take yet another step forward offensively.
Brown would be joining a team who should be Super Bowl contenders next season. San Francisco was ravaged by injuries this season, but they are going to be healthy and back on track in 2021. If Brown joined the roster, their offense would take a big step forward and he could very well end up being the top target.
1. Baltimore Ravens
Talk about an intriguing landing spot. The Ravens are searching for a No. 1 weapon for Lamar Jackson and it wouldn’t get any better than Antonio Brown. He would be joining a serious AFC contender and would immediately be the team’s top weapon.
Brown and Marquise “Hollywood” Brown are cousins and would reunite as a lethal tandem. This is a move that the Ravens should strongly consider trying to make. It could be the move that puts them over the top and into serious Super Bowl contention.
