Philadelphia Eagles
When aren’t the Eagles in the market for free agent receivers? Since their Super Bowl run, they’ve struggled to find a reliable group.
Philly didn’t have a single receiver cross 500 yards in 2019, and while they had poor injury luck, there hasn’t been a solid receiving season in years in Philly.
They acquired the aforementioned Marquise Goodwin during the draft, but he opted out due to coronavirus concerns. DeSean Jackson and Alshon Jeffery are both on the wrong side of 30 and didn’t play much last year.
The Eagles drafted Jalen Reagor in the first round this year, passing on more highly touted talent like Justin Jefferson and Brandon Aiyuk.
Gabriel isn’t enough to fix this receiving corps. Not even close. But he would likely become the Eagles’ first option, unless Reagor or another young player breaks out.
Whether it’s Taylor Gabriel or another free agent like Demaryius Thomas, expect the Eagles to bring in another set of hands before the end of camp.
