Julio Jones, Atlanta Falcons
We discuss this one last because it’s a long shot. But the Falcons have just cleaned house at 1-5, firing head coach Dan Quinn and GM Thomas Dimitroff.
Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan has been the subject of trade speculation even before Dimitroff was fired, and if Atlanta is going to consider trading Ryan, they should consider trading Jones as well.
At 1-5, Atlanta cannot contend this season, and it could be time to part with Jones.
This obviously isn’t the kind of move the Falcons would usually make. But when a team is winless and has lost in the ways Atlanta has this season, questions arise. And when a team fires its head coach and its GM in one swift move, it leads to an uncertain future.
Jones would give Rivers an All-Pro who could make a big impact down the stretch, although if he’s available, there could be many teams interested.
