49ers: 3 breakout candidates for San Francisco in 2020

The San Francisco 49ers are coming into the 2020 NFL season as one of the top Super Bowl contenders in the league. After making an impressive run to the Super Bowl last season, the 49ers came up just short against the Kansas City Chiefs. They have made some major moves this offseason, but are expected to be in contention once again.

Led by quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, the 49ers’ offense was very difficult to stop last season. San Francisco saw Garoppolo take a big step forward, but the running game was also lethal. Matt Breida was traded this offseason, but the 49ers will have Raheem Mostert, Tevin Coleman, and Jerick McKinnon leading the way in 2020.

Kyle Shanahan has become one of the top head coaches in football. His offensive genius was on display all season long in 2019. Add in the fact that he has surrounded himself with great defensive minds, including defensive coordinator Robert Saleh, and the 49ers have an elite coaching staff.

While the 49ers already have a talented roster, there are some players who could make them even more dangerous. They have some young pieces who could put together breakout seasons in 2020.

Let’s take a look at three players on the 49ers’ roster who could be in store for big breakout seasons this year.
