Where will Fred Warner go when Reuben Foster comes back?
Fred Warner’s debut was a successful one. He’s currently filling in at the MIKE linebacker spot while Reuben Foster is out for suspension.
He came away with a team-leading 12 total tackles (one for a loss), a quarterback hit and one forced fumble. He did well to show his versatility as a linebacker and continues to show that the future is bright in San Francisco.
Now with Foster coming back after Week 2, it’s uncertain where he will go whether it will the SAM or WILL linebacker roles. With Malcolm Smith (hamstring) out for some time, he will likely take over that spot. However, he’s very athletic and can be used as the SAM linebacker to pick up any slot options or anyone coming out of the backfield.
It’s good to see that general manager John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan still can draft some of the most talented players each season after what they did in 2017.
Now, Foster has a running mate to go along with him. A new “Patrick Willis and NaVorro Bowman” combination.
