The San Francisco 49ers are back on track after their 30-27 victory over the Detroit Lions at home in Week 2. It was a significant improvement for the team after their disappointing start against the Minnesota Vikings the previous week. However, the team is moving in the right direction that analysts have expected in the offseason.
The Niners saw breakthroughs in players that they’ve needed more significant contributions from. As well as seeing cornerstone pieces continue to show the value that the coaches have bragged about.
But even with these strides, there’s still points of emphasis that need help.
At one point the 49ers were up 30-13 but gave up two fourth-quarter touchdown passes that kept the game close for the Lions. The team is still weeks away from being considered a serious threat to contenders. But for now, San Francisco can learn from this game and look at the takeaways that come with it.
