49ers: 3 Most Likely Players to Be Traded

3. Defensive End Arik Armstead

From one first-rounder to another. The former Oregon Duck’s stock has never been higher.

His statistics are already looking better than they ever have. One important stat to note is the career-high three sacks so far this season. That’s one-third of his career total at just the midway point of the season. Being a part of the same defensive system for a second straight season helps to say the least.

It’s this newfound level of play that can result in a high draft pick for the 49ers. Plus with the need for a pass rusher and the likelihood the 49ers will take Nick Bosa in next year’s draft with their current draft placement, it’s inevitable.

He would fit a team that’s in desperate need of a pass rusher and runs a 3-4 base defense. The Patriots are a team in need of some help in the pass rush with what they have as they rank second-worst at getting to the quarterback. The Texans can also use some help as they need more bodies to help with the pressure they bring as they rank 28th in that category on PFF. And the Redskins need a pass rusher that can help Ryan Kerrigan take the defense to new heights.
