One thing to note for the 49ers on the defensive side of the football is that Richard Sherman has been placed on IR. He will be eligible to return to the field in three weeks. San Francisco will miss him in a big way in their secondary.

Moving forward, the 49ers are going to need some young players to step up at the cornerback position. They don’t have very many known playmakers in the secondary right now with Sherman out.

Without further delay, here are the four bold predictions for the 49ers that you have been waiting for.

4. The Jets Only Gain 40 Yards On The Ground

Le’Veon Bell will not be playing in this game, as he was placed on IR due to a hamstring injury. That leaves Frank Gore as the starting running back for the Jets this week. While Gore is a good player, the 49ers are going to hold him and New York to just 40 yards on the ground.

3. Mohamed Sanu Makes A Major Impact

Next up, the 49ers made a move to sign free agent veteran wide receiver Mohamed Sanu this week. Even though this is his first week with the team, he will make a major impact right off the bat with his new team. Sanu will end up catching six passes for 65 yards and a touchdown in his debut.

2. San Francisco Sacks Sam Darnold Five Times

There is no question that the 49ers still have one of the most feared defenses in the NFL. Nick Bosa is a star and San Francisco also has Arik Armstead, Solomon Thomas, Javon Kinlaw, and Dee Ford on the field. Their star power will get to Darnold five times in this week’s matchup.

1. The 49ers Take Home A Massive Blowout Victory

Finally, the 49ers are going to jump all over the Jets to begin the game and won’t look back. New York stands no chance in this game against an angry San Francisco team. The 49ers will move to 1-1 on the season with a blowout win.

We are predicting that the final score for this game will end up being 34-17 in favor of the 49ers.
