3. Defensive Duo Combines for 25 Sacks
Nick Bosa quickly emerged as one of the top defensive players in the game. He was in the Defensive Player of the Year conversation as a rookie. San Francisco made it a priority to keep the duo of Bosa and Armstead together. It could pay off immediately.
In 2019, Armstead led the Niners with 10 sacks followed by Bosa with nine. Buckner, now with the Colts, finished third at 7.5. Bosa and Armstead combined for 19 sacks and that number could skyrocket this season. Bosa now has some experience under his belt and Armstead has a shiny new contract.
The Pittsburgh Steelers led the NFL in sacks in 2019. They saw the duo of T.J. Watt and Bud Dupree combine for 26 sacks. Watt finished with 14.5 and Dupree logged 11.5. These are numbers that Bosa and Armstead could reach. Bosa will undoubtedly reach double-figures in his second season. They will also have some help on the line with the addition of Javon Kinlaw in the draft. Expect the Niners’ front to do big things once again.
