Dante Pettis
With receiver Marquise Goodwin still questionable for week two the pressure is on rookie receiver Dante Pettis. He filled in nicely in Goodwin’s role as the deep threat to stretch the field as he came away with two catches for 61 yards and his first career touchdown.
However, he’s still very raw and needs work. The former Washington Husky dropped a big play touchdown on a drive that ended with running back Alfred Morris’ fumble on the Vikings’ one-yard line. A lot of those same mistakes happened with him in the preseason as well.
He can still correct these errors when he goes against the Lions not only as a receiver but as a return man. His big play ability is something that made him a name back in college with his NCAA record of nine career punt return touchdowns.
This week could be Pettis’ coming out party if he can take the next step.
