San Francisco 49ers: 5 Takeaways from Halfway Through the Preseason

The 49ers are only at the midway point of the preseason. However, there’s still much they need to build off of and also improve.

The San Francisco squad is still not in regular season form yet, especially with the number of injuries that are plaguing them during this period. And with a 16-13 loss to the Texans after the relatively hot start they had at home against the Cowboys, it shows that this team isn’t prepared for 2018 just yet.

To be fair, there are some ups to go with the downs that are apparent throughout training camp. And Shanahan’s team isn’t too far away from getting where they need to be if they can only improve upon what they have now.

With that being said, here are five takeaways from the 49ers so far through the preseason.
