The Odell Beckham Jr. sweepstakes could pick up by the end of this week. According to Jay Glazer of Fox Sports, the biggest-named free agent remaining in the NFL could get fully cleared by the end of the week. One team to watch could be the San Francisco 49ers.

That would be big news for Beckham, who is working his way back from an ACL tear suffered during Super Bowl LVI while playing with the Los Angeles Rams. The Rams defeated the Cincinnati Bengals in the game as Beckham caught two passes for 52 yards and a touchdown before going down with an injury.

Beckham’s free agency could help turn the tide for whichever team he opts to sign with. He showed last season with the Rams that he has plenty left to offer a team despite some underwhelming performances with the Cleveland Browns.

Where could Beckham end up? He has been linked to a bunch of teams throughout the season and there are reportedly two dark horse teams to keep an eye on; the team that drafted him originally, the New York Giants, and the San Francisco 49ers.

The 49ers have shown that they are willing to go all-in to compete for a Super Bowl this season. Despite being 4-4 as they went into their Week 9 bye, they are a team that is in a position to make a run in the second half of the season.

San Francisco made a splash play ahead of the deadline, acquiring running back Christian McCaffrey from the Carolina Panthers. He joins an impressive group of skill position players that includes wide receivers Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk and tight end George Kittle.

The 49ers may not necessarily need Odell Beckham Jr., but if the opportunity to add another impactful offensive weapon to the mix arises, they will certainly look into it. Teams don’t turn down talent and there is no denying the impact that Beckham would bring to the mix.
