First Quarter of the Season

Week 1 vs. Arizona Cardinals

The Arizona Cardinals are one of the more exciting team thats are on the come-up in the NFL. With 2019 Offensive Rookie of the Year Kyler Murray at QB and newly-acquired wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, the Cardinals are primed to be competitors in Kliff Kingsbury second season.

However, in Week 1, they won’t have it figured out just quite yet. San Francisco had the top ranked pass defense in 2019 and had almost no turnover for this season. It won’t be an easy task to contain the Cardinals’ offense, but in Week 1, the 49ers get the win to start 1-0.

Week 2 at New York Jets

The New York Jets are well, not very good. They did have the 2nd-best run defense last year which will force Jimmy Garoppolo to air the ball out more, but it shouldn’t be an easy. Especially now with no Jamal Adams and C.J. Mosley opting out.

The first game of a back-to-back in New York won’t be a pretty win. It should be an easy win for the 49ers, but the Jets will stay around all game to make it close. But the 49ers move to 2-0.

Week 3 at New York Giants

In the back end of the trip to the Big Apple, the 49ers go up against another weak opponent in the New York Giants. The Giants are in the middle of a rebuild, still in the middle of grooming young talent and bringing in some veteran help.

The Giants have one of the worst pass defenses in the league. And that’s after bringing in James Bradberry. Expect a big game out of Kittle as San Francisco will remain undefeated with a dominant win over the G-men.

Week 4 vs. Philadelphia Eagles

Coming back from the East Coast, the 49ers square off against a tough Philadelphia Eagles team. The Eagles’ defense is very solid and will be a problem for San Francisco’s run game.

The difference maker in this one will be Carson Wentz, as it will be in pretty much every Eagle game. He’s a guy that puts his team on his back and wins games that they really shouldn’t and this will be one of them. It’s going to be a hard-fought, low-scoring affair but the 49ers drop to 3-1, losing their first game of the season.
