Final Quarter of the Season

Week 14 vs. Washington Football Team

After five very tough matchups, the 49ers finally draw an easier opponent. Which means that this has trap game written all over it. Washington is another rebuilding team, but a very good head coach with Ron Rivera at the helm.

It should be a blowout and a confidence booster for the 49ers. They’ll get the win, but it will be a lot closer than Kyle Shanahan would like. Nonetheless, a win is win and it’s a three-game winning streak for San Francisco.

Week 15 at Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys have a highly dangerous offense with Dak Prescott leading the way and the trio of Amari Cooper, Michael Gallup and CeeDee Lamb at receiver. Add in Ezekial Elliott to the mix, and the 49ers’ defense has their hands full.

Dallas will give the 49ers’ secondary their hardest test of the year. San Francisco will hang around, but their defense won’t have enough to stop Prescott and Co. the winning streak will be snapped and the record drops to 9-5.

Week 16 at Arizona Cardinals

After a tough win in Week 1 against the Cardinals, Arizona’s offense will have figured it out. They have the potential to be one of the most dangerous passing teams in the league and by Week 6, they’ll have proved it.

At this point, the Cardinals will be most likely just behind the 49ers and going for a Wild Card spot. Even though both teams need this win late in the season, after getting bruised up by the Cowboys, the 49ers’ defense can’t quite bounce back and the Cardinals walk away with a win.

Week 17 vs. Seattle Seahawks

Much like last season, the Week 17 matchup between Seattle and San Francisco is more important than ever. Each team will come out firing and the Seahawks may just be ahead of the 49ers as they try to seal the division.

After two tough losses to Dallas and Arizona, the 49ers need this win. They will grind out a win at home to end the season, this time with the defense stopping Russell Wilson’s game-winning drive. The 49ers finish the season with a 10-6 record.

At 10-6, the 49ers won’t have enough to win the division. However, they’l; be able to get one fo the wild card spot and be one of the more dangerous teams to face. This is a team that now has playoff experience under its belt and knows what it takes to get to the Super Bowl. The defense will once again be relied on to be the power behind the 49er engine and this team will certainly make another run to win the NFC.
