2. Travis Etienne Has a Monster Game
One of the biggest mismatches that the Jaguars will look to exploit this weekend is their running game against the Chargers’ run defense. Jacksonville was solid on the ground this season and very efficient. They were 17th in attempts, 14th in yardage, 11 in rushing touchdowns and ninth in yards per carry.
That presents a major mismatch against a Chargers defense that faced the 15th most rushing attempts but ranked 28th in yardage, 21st in touchdowns and last in yards per carry. In Week 3, Robinson ran for 100 yards on 14 carries while Etienne had 45 on 13.
Expect another big day on the ground as Etienne will rush for at least 115 yards against a porous Chargers front seven.
1. Jaguars Win A Nail-Biter
The second matchup this season between the Chargers and Jaguars is going to be much different from the first one. Week 3 was a blowout victory for the Jaguars, but this one is going to be a more competitive game.
This has the makings of a shootout with how much offensive talent will be on the field. It will come down to which defense can make a timely stop and it will be the Jaguars who are able to make the plays.
With a sizable coaching edge, Jacksonville will come out ahead in what will be a one-score game. Herbert and Lawrence will both showcase what makes them such special talents, but the Jaguars’ defense is a little further ahead and will get the job done in front of the home crowd.
