George Kittle Will Be Dominant
I know, you read that headline and think, “obviously”. But, remember they are playing the New England Patriots and mastermind Bill Belichick. We all know the Patriots do their best to take away your best option offensively. For the Niners, that will be TE George Kittle.
George Kittle suffered a knee injury in the season opener that caused him to miss Week’s 2 and 3. In his first game back against the Philadelphia Eagles, he was dominant. He made up for his missed time by recording 15 catches for 183 yards and 1 touchdown. In fact, since his return, he has led the Niners in receiving yards in their last three games.
In the win over the Rams, Kittle was clutch when need be. On a crucial 4th down, the Rams were in zero coverage and paid the price.
You can expect the Patriots to be doubling him majority of the game. But, Kittle will look to continue that dominant play against the New England Patriots. So far on the year, the Patriots have already faced two dominant tight ends in Darren Waller of the Vegas Raiders, and Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs.
In both outings, they were successful in preventing both of them from having big games. They held Darren Waller to just 2 catches for 9 yards and held Kelce to 3 catches for 70 yards. Kelce had one big play for 45 yards, but, besides that, he was held in check.
The Patriots are a very disciplined team and follow their assignments nearly to perfection. This week, they will have the large task of stopping George Kittle. I do not think they will be able to stop the best TE in football this week. I see Kittle with another impressive game, recording 6 catches for 90 yards and 1 touchdown. Also, keep in mind that Kittle is very effective as a run blocker and will be needed this week as the Niners love to establish their run.
