San Francisco 49ers Will Hold Cam Newton Under 50 Rush Yards

Cam Newton has surprised many in his return year with the New England Patriots. Coming into the season, many weren’t sure what to expect from the former Carolina Panther as he struggled to find a new home. So far on the year, he has produced at a solid rate. He is still the same ol’ Cam who makes impressive plays with his feet, but, he has been more accurate than he has in the past.

Newton is completing nearly 70% of his passes while throwing for 871 yards, 2 touchdowns and 4 interceptions. He is the leading rusher on this team with 225 yards and 5 touchdowns. Cam is very effective in the goal line with the QB blasts. He is averaging just above 55 rushing yards per game. It will be very important for the Niners to contain Cam this week.

If not, it will be a long day for San Francisco as you see Cam Newton joined elite company last week. The Niners are athletic enough to stay with Cam and his running ability. What will remain to be seen is if they are patient throughout the game.

Cam will either run on a designed play or if the play break downs. He is very comfortable in the pocket and it will be up to the Niners linebackers to determine whether or not they need to leave their spy assignment. I think they will play smart and contain Cam Newton as I predict they will hold him under 50 rushing yards.
