Buccaneers’ Offense Will Struggle
There has been much talk about the Tampa Bay Buccaneers being a contender after signing Tom Brady. For a team like the New Orleans Saints who have basically run the NFC South in recent years, that should serve as added motivation to send a message in Week 1.
The Saints’ defense is not one to be taken lightly. The secondary has become deeper than what the NFC South is accustomed to seeing and that group could pose some real issues for a new-look Buccaneers offense that is playing its first game together.
There won’t be nearly as dynamic of potential on tough throws for the Buccaneers by going from Jameis Winston to Brady. Granted, Tampa Bay will probably cut much down on reckless decisions in play calling, but still, the Saints won’t have to account for as explosive of potential plays.
When factoring in the Buccaneers will be getting acclimated together after not having the preseason to work through, there’s a real chance they get off to a slow start. A matchup with the Saints certainly doesn’t help considering they are formidable in each key area.
