The air is getting cooler, the days are getting shorter and football is almost here. It’s an AFC East battle to start things off with the Miami Dolphins and the New England Patriots set to kick off their seasons on Sunday, Sept. 13.

These two teams are trending in different directions, with the Dolphins on the backside of a rebuild and the Patriots currently in limbo after watching Tom Brady leave the northeast.

The Dolphins have named veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick as the Week 1 starter over rookie Tua Tagavailoa, who is expected to eventually take over. Cam Newton was named the starter over Jarrett Stidham, a move that didn’t surprise many.

The Patriots steemrolled the Dolphins in Week 2 last season 43-0, but were stuned in Week 17 by Miami in a 27-24 loss. Ultimately, 2020 is a completely different story for each team and it’s a closer talent gap for the first time in a few years.

So with the season just days away from getting underway, here are 5 bold predictions for Dolphins vs. Patriots in Week 1 of the 2020 NFL season.
