2. Justin Jefferson Gets Held In Check
Justin Jefferson spent most of the season on pace to break Calvin Johnson’s single-season record for receiving yards in a season. But, in the final two games of the season, he was held in check by the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears, two teams who he torched earlier in the season.
In the regular season matchup against the Giants, Jefferson had his way with their secondary as well. He caught 12 passes for 133 yards and one touchdown. That matchup came against an undermanned secondary as Adoree’ Jackson missed the game because of injury.
With Jackson now in the lineup, Jefferson will meet the same fate he did against the Packers and Bears in a repeat matchup. The star wideout will be held under five receptions and 50 yards for the third consecutive game as New York will scheme to allow him to have as little impact as possible.
1. Giants Pull Off Upset
The first matchup between the Giants and Vikings this season was one of the better ones of the regular season and the playoff matchup will not disappoint. However, the roles will be reversed this time, as it will be New York coming out ahead.
Big Blue will pull off the upset, picking up the road victory and keeping their excellent first season under head coach Brian Daboll alive for at least one more week. This time, it will be a Graham Gano field goal that decides the game late in the fourth quarter that will be the difference.
Tasked with getting one more stop, the Giants’ defense will step up and get the job done. Landon Collins, who along with Sterling Shepard are the only players remaining from the last Giants team to make the playoffs in 2016, will be the one making the game-sealing play.
