NFL Analysis Network

The 2020 NFL season is rapidly approaching and for the Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Giants, they will kick off Week 1 in an out-of-conference showdown. It will be an interesting test for both teams looking to gauge where they’re at after a strange offseason.

It’s no secret the Steelers underachieved in 2019. Despite having an elite defense, they posted a mere 8-8 record. After Ben Roethlisberger went down with a season-ending injury, it simply provided to be too much for Pittsburgh to overcome.

Now, Roethlisberger is now back in the lineup and will be ready to make a big impact. The offense for the Steelers will elevate substantially as a result and it certainly helps they added more dynamic talents into the mix like Eric Ebron and Chase Claypool.

The Giants were another team that struggled with injuries last season, but much of it had to do with the positions around the quarterback. Daniel Jones showed real flashes of potential in 2019 and now with talents like Evan Engram and Sterling Shepard healthy, it will only help.

If the Steelers want to win the AFC North title in 2020, they must get the job done against teams like the Giants. The Baltimore Ravens are set for another great season and the Cleveland Browns could bounce-back, too. As for New York, a matchup with Pittsburgh will serve as a real test.

With that, let’s take a look at five bold predictions for the Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Giants matchup in Week 1 of the 2020 NFL season.
