Steelers Force 3 Turnovers
It was a real struggle for the New York Giants to keep their turnovers down with rookie Daniel Jones at the quarterback position. A particular area where Jones struggled was in the fumbles department. The 18 that he posted was more than any other player in the NFL.
When factoring in that no team managed to force more turnovers (38) than the Steelers in 2019, it won’t be an easy matchup for Jones to begin his efforts of cutting down on turnovers. Let’s not forget, a particular strength of Pittsburgh was that they generated 18 takeaways from fumbles alone.
If Jones can manage to keep his turnovers low against the Steelers, it would bode very well for how his offseason work translated to the 2020 season. However, the criticism will be loud if that doesn’t end up being the case and that’s what should be expected when considering the matchup.
The Giants will have a lot of film to review heading into Week 2 on where they need to improve in regards to turnovers. After recording three takeaways, the Steelers’ defense will be able to put the offense in a real position to win with extra possessions.
