5. Broncos Defense Neutralizes Benny Snell Jr.
The Steelers displayed intriguing results in the ground-game during their win over the Giants in Week 1. The presence of Benny Snell Jr. alone essentially carried this element of Pittsburgh’s offense to success despite James Conner struggling.
Against the Giants, the Steelers provided Snell Jr. with 19 carries and he managed to average 5.9 yards per carry en route to 113 total rushing yards. It was an impressive display, but his Week 2 matchup could be dificult to replicate such figures.
The Broncos will be prepared to stop the run as they are coming off a matchup with Derrick Henry. While the elite running back rushed for 116 total yards, it took 31 carries to be able to reach that figure. Overall, Denver gave up just 3.7 yards per carry.
It’s difficult to envision Snell Jr. managing to outperform Henry on rushes and he will not receive nearly as many of them either. The Broncos should be able to neutralize Snell Jr. in what could result in fewer than 60 rushing yards.
