1. Chargers Will Defeat The Saints
Based off what I’ve been predicting, it would be safe to assume that I like this Justin Herbert. From the moment he was drafted, I thought the Chargers should have started him.
But, all that matters is that he is the starter now and seems to have secured that spot for the near future. While he has not recorded a win, he has shown the Chargers enough to know they got their franchise guy.
In his debut against the Chiefs, he did not know he was starting until right before kickoff. He didn’t let his nerves get to him and nearly outplayed the former Super Bowl MVP, Patrick Mahomes.
So far on the year, Herbert has completed 77 of 107 passes for 931 yards, throwing 5 touchdowns and 3 interceptions. Versus the Buccaneers, Herbert completed 20 of 25 for 290 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 1 interception.
Herbert is dynamic enough to make plays with his feet. With no Ekeler this week, I expect the Chargers to draw up more plays that involve Herbert to be on the move. I see this kid going toe to toe with Drew Brees on national television, picking up his first win in what is to be considered a must win for the Chargers.
