The Cowboys give up 350 yards through the air to Baker Mayfield

The Cowboys have faced Jared Goff, Matt Ryan, and Russell Wilson thus far in the young 2020 season. Each of those quarterbacks had their way with the Cowboys’ defense in their own unique way.

Goff and the Rams used an up-tempo offense to keep the Cowboys from having fresh legs. Matt Ryan exposed a few injuries in the Cowboys’ secondary and unleashed an all out air assault. Russell Wilson was, in fact, Russell Wilson. Wilson found plenty of mismatches and completely blown coverages to keep the Cowboys secondary completely befuddled.

Baker Mayfield comes in with Odell Beckham Jr., Jarvis Landry, Austin Hooper, and a two-headed monster running back tandem in Chubb and Hunt, who are more than capable of being effective in the passing game out of the backfield. This is a recipe for disaster for the Cowboys.

Another shootout is approaching. You wouldn’t have thought this when the schedule came out.
