The opening of the 2020 NFL season came and went. Now, the Atlanta Falcons and Dallas Cowboys will face off in Week 2 in what should be a highly entertaining matchup.
The Cowboys held a 14-13 lead over the Rams at halftime but failed to put more than three point on the board in the second half. Dallas finished the game with a 20-17 loss. It was controversial considering a late offensive pass interference call on their final possession prevented them from reaching the red-zone.
As for the Falcons, they dug themselves into a hole early by trailing 14-3 at the end of the opening period. Atlanta rallied back by scoring nine unanswered points in the second quarter, but ultimately were outscored by 10 points in the second half en route to a 38-25 loss.
Both teams came up short in their Week 1 outings and will seek to avoid an 0-2 start to the season. Managing to avoid such a hole is important for any team with aspirations of making it to the playoffs.
