5. Wide Receivers Make Major Impact

There will be a lot of talent at the wide receiver position on the field when the Cowboys and Falcons face off with each other. Neither team is necessary positioned to be able to handle the opposition’s group and that could lead to impressive results.

The Falcons’ top three wide receivers all managed to exceed the 100-yard mark during the team’s loss to the Seahawks. For reference, Julio Jones (157), Calvin Ridley (13), and Russell Gage (114) combined for 401 receiving yards while Ridley added two touchdown grabs.

There was plenty of talk about the Cowboys’ receivers having a goal of having three 1,000-yard performers this season. Against an effective Rams defense, they didn’t showcase that potential. That will be a different story for Amari Cooper, Michael Gallup, and CeeDee Lamb in Week 2.

Both wide receiver groups could end up combining for 325 yards and three touchdowns in this game. It would help position both teams with enough output from their respective passing attacks to have a real chance to win this matchup.
