4. Ezekiel Elliott Dominates
There was plenty of talk about Ezekiel Elliott possibly being in a decline before the season began. His impact on the Cowboys’ offense during the team’s loss to the Rams was clear and suggested he is far from winding down.
The Cowboys provided Elliott with 22 carries and he produced 96 rushing yards and 1 touchdown run in those sequences. In addition, he showed intriguing signs as a receiver out of the backfield by hauling in three catches for 31 yards and one touchdown grab.
It’s difficult to envision the Falcons having what it takes to neutralize Elliott in a head-to-head matchup. That’s the case for just about any defense in the NFL, but Atlanta is especially underequipped to get the job done.
The Cowboys’ backfield will receive at least 140 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns when they take on the Falcons. Another impactful performance will help Elliott to build what could be an All-Pro caliber campaign.
