5. Daniel Jones Puts Together A Breakout Performance
The Giants’ offense had a real outlook to be much improved this season— the development of second-year quarterback Daniel Jones being a critical component of that thought. So far, that hasn’t played out accordingly.
There has been the appearance of a clear regression from Jones so far this season. However, going up against tough defenses like that of the Steelers, Bears, and 49ers for his initial three matchups is not necessarily a fair measure of where he’s at development-wise.
So far this season, Jones has thrown twice as many interceptions (4) as touchdowns (2) while completing just 60.2% of his pass attempts— adding 699 passing yards to go along with it. He needs to have a strong outing against this Rams defense.
Managing to put up a stat line consisting of 275 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions would show real progress in Jones’ development by being able to bounce-back from a poor outing the week prior.
