Brandin Cooks Will Have Over 100 Receiving Yards Again
The Houston Texans traded for WR Brandin Cooks in the offseason hoping he can fill the void of DeAndre Hopkins. Cooks has been somewhat of a journey man in his career, but at the core, he is a good football player. The Texans seemed to have finally figured out how to get him involved. He is coming off his best game of the season.
More good news for the Texans, they will be facing a Tennessee secondary that ranks in the bottom half of the league in terms of passing yardage. They currently allow an average of 261.0 yards per game through the air. The Texans will have to find ways to get Cooks involved once again as he can be the motor that helps this Texans offense operate.
In Week 5 against the Buffalo Bills, the Tennessee secondary struggled to contain the Bills wideouts. In particular, WR Stefon Diggs. Diggs recorded 10 catches for 106 yards. Cooks is similar to Diggs in size and speed. They are also similar in the types of routes they run. Coming off a big game against the Jaguars, I expect another impressive performance from Cooks.
So far on the year, Cooks has caught 18 of 33 targets for 299 yards and 1 touchdown. Against the Jaguars alone, he had 8 catches for 161 yards and 1 touchdown. Fantasy owners, input Cook into your starting lineup this week if you haven’t done so already.
