2. Justin Herbert Time
Chargers head coach Anthony Lynn has stated that Tyrod Taylor is the starting quarterback when he is healthy. This is head-scratching considering that Justin Herbert, after just one start, might be better than Taylor. There is no doubt that what Herbert showed on Sunday is better than Taylor.
Taylor and Lynn are linked from their days with the Buffalo Bills. That is clearly a reason why Lynn is sticking with Taylor. Also, he has said that Herbert has a lot to learn being just a rookie.
That may be true, but the best way to learn is to play. It is not like he is sitting behind Aaron Rodgers or Tom Brady. If this season takes a real turn for the worst, we could see Herbert soon.
Herbert finished with 311 yards and a touchdown against the Chiefs. He also threw one interception. The Chargers are hoping that they have found their next franchise quarterback and they will not know until they play him every week.
